Excursions around the city of Dnipr

“Felichita” invites you to visit exciting excursions on the river, during which you can see some of the most interesting and beautiful places in the city of Dnipro. At your service is a professional guide who will tell you about the sights and history of the city.

Along the right bank of the Dnieper is the embankment, which is the longest in Europe. The length of embankment is more than 23 kilometers.

The city of Dnipro consists of two parts, each of them is located on opposite banks of the river. In order to provide communications, 5 bridges cross the Dnieper. You will also be able to see them during your water walk.

The most beautiful of the bridges is the Merefo-Kherson railway, it is built in the shape of an arch. This is the first bridge to have such a construction. It is one of the most unique sights of the city of Dnipro.

The oldest bridge in the city – Amur. It was built back in 1884. Before its appearance, the Dnieper River was an obstacle on the way from Baturin to Perekop.

Kaidatsky Bridge is the longest bridge in the city. It stretched for 1732 meters. The bridge provides 3-row traffic in both directions, and a tram goes through its center.

Later, the Southern and Central (New) bridges were built. The southern bridge is part of the eastern arc of the bypass road. It was opened in December 2000. The central road bridge connects the left bank with the city center. Near the Central Bridge you will see the towers of the BRIDGE – City Center – a large complex that includes a shopping and entertainment center, residential apartments and offices. BRIDGE – City Center occupies an entire quarter and has an interesting architectural design.

The most legendary place you can see during a fascinating trip on the river is the Monastery Island. It got its name from the Byzantine monastery, allegedly founded here in the 9th century. The first mention of the island dates back to 1880, in the work of Bishop Theodosius. The monastery island was the northernmost point of the mission of Andrew the First-Called. Nowadays, the island is a great place to relax – there are several beaches and an amusement park. You can visit a huge aquarium located in a separate building and a zoo. In the northern part is the Orthodox Church of St. Nicholas. The monastery island is connected to the city by a cableway and a pedestrian bridge. On the opposite side of the river (on the banks of the Dnieper) you will see Shevchenko Park – one of the most popular places for recreation of locals and visitors. Until 1925, the park was called the Potemkin Garden, as previously here was the residence of Prince Grigory Potemkin. The Potemkin Palace (now the Palace of Students of DNU) has been preserved in the park complex.

But back to the islands. Monastyrsky is not the only island you will encounter during a walk. Not far from the Amur Bridge is Green. It owes its name to the picturesque landscapes. The island is not connected to the city by bridges, so you can only get there by swimming. Green Island is an ideal place for those who like a secluded vacation in the bosom of nature.

Shevsky Island is located near Monastyrsky. It can be reached only by water, as well as to the Green. In Soviet times, the island was very popular with vacationers, and there was a regular river tram. Nowadays, the island attracts fans of camping, fishing and sailing.

Not far from Shevsky Island there is a water ski stadium and a yacht club.

And, perhaps, the most beautiful and unusual sights that you can see during your river trip are the fountains “White Swan” and “Sphere”, located on the embankment of Lenin.

“White Swan” is a unique floating light and music design that rotates and even “waves its wings”. The fountain looks really impressive, especially in the evening! The height of its jets reaches 50 meters, and due to laser spraying of water and change of color modes figures and abstract compositions of extraordinary beauty are created.

Not far from the New Bridge you will see the Fountain “Sphere”. It is constructed in the form of a sphere. In the evening, the fountain glows with a soft yellow light, making its contours resemble a huge dandelion.

You will be able to observe all this in a comfortable atmosphere, enjoying the best service, exquisite cuisine of our restaurant and the harmonious atmosphere that prevails aboard the ship “Felicita”. A tour of the Dnieper City by boat is the best way to get to know the city and have a good time with friends and family.
